Position Summary
This role serves as the Engineering Lead for GTS and is responsible for owning day-to-day engineering delivery across municipal and private projects. The Engineering Lead will function as the primary technical and client-facing authority on assigned projects, lead and mentor staff, ensure technical defensibility and QA/QC excellence, and reduce dependency on the Principal for routine engineering decisions and client management. This is a delivery-first leadership role focused on building a scalable, high-quality engineering practice.
Required Qualifications

12–20+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California.

Significant experience working with California public agencies.

Demonstrated experience leading multiple projects simultaneously.

Direct client-facing experience as primary technical contact.

Experience managing and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.

Strong experience in traffic signal design, signing and striping, ADA/curb ramp design, complete streets, and safety improvements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
